Well, three days now since the damage and two since its medical attention and no wilted leaves so I guess it will be fine. I'm quite amazed at its resiliance to be honest, I would never have thought of trying to join a totally cut stem before. Thanks to you all for your encouragement and advice, I still have seven fine tomato plants, if one is a bit of a strange shape. And yes Cutecumber, I'm afraid every one of them is my pride and joy!
