HELP with growveg.com

I am new to veggie growing, so trying out growveg.com which has helped me plan what and where to plant BUT on the plant list, which shows you when you're sowing, planting and harvesting (represented by coloured bars) some of them are greyed, and I can't figure out why. I have emailed them, but thought someone may already know on here.

They will either be out of season in relation to your plan,or they will only become visible when you pay for the upgrade I would imagine.Best plan is to wait & see what info comes in their email

ive entered/changed the sow and harvest of some on the planner but then the list seems to revert back to default and I think they are saying according to their frost calculator thing I dont have a long enough seasons for them to grow. Really?? I can't grow broccolli, cauliflowers etc?????

Thanks for getting in contact. The plants which are showing greyed out bars have specific 'in-ground dates'. When you set in-ground dates for a plant, your Plant List will show darker lines for the months when your plant is actually growing in the ground, with the dimmed parts of the lines indicating the general recommended sowing, planting and harvesting times if they extend beyond the in-ground dates. It's worth checking that your in-ground dates correspond with the recommended growing and harvesting periods on the Plant List."

Which kinda makes sense but my reply 'Ok, but for example my purple sprouting broccoli is showing sow apr-may in bold but then all of the harvesting is greyed out, there are no bold harvesting. I have entered the dates from the seeds. Surely there should be some bold harvesting'

PSB,I think is harvested the following year,there will be a brassica person along shortly no doubt

Do your seed packets have instructions?

If not post the variety of the veg you have and we will help with sowing times etc.

As an aside I would thing there are more cauliflowers etc grown around Donnington than any other part of the country.

I have been harvesting PSB for the past three weeks or so... It is a good job I like it as I suspect others would be sick of it by now...
I used to have a client who farmed at Donington and his major crop was cauliflower.

yes we are surrounded by cabbage, broc ect lol. PSB packed says sow apr-may harvest oct-feb. Its extra early rudolf. The planner says theres never a harvest lol, perhaps the pigeons got it!

Try Birchgrove in Pinchbeck which is my favoured GC... I find it to be cheaper and has amenable staff - A lot nearer to you than Baytree is too so saving on fuel costs!

I left the netting off my PSB last week. There hadn't been much left, which was a good job because the birds took all the rest in just a few days, right down to the old tough woody bits.

So don't ease up on the netting.

Went to Birchgrove today (much to my boys annoyance they like Baytree, cause of all the animals) priced up netting, to compare online, also got onion sets, which seemed alot cheaper than I'd been looking at.
