container grown fruit?

Can anyone recommend a fruit that will grow well in a container? I'd love to have a go at doing raspberries but not sure how well these would do.
I'm already doing strawberries

I did have a kiwi fruit but gave it away as it wasn't suitable for my garden, and I bailed out of doing passion fruit for the same reason. I kind of fancied having a go at pawpaw, but I don't think my location will be suitable plus it could be a bit big for my garden

Last year I had a decent crop from the Blackcurrants, Raspberries and Blackberry I had in pots. This year I've added Whitecurrant, Redcurrant and Jostaberries, but I've split the raspberries and planted them out. As long as the pots are 40-45cm or so around, and you give them plenty of additional nutrients, they'll be happy.

Every winter while they're dormant I pull the plant out, trim the roots right back (so they have room to grow and won't be pot-bound), and in the case of raspberries I can split the clump to give me more plants. I bought a £1 autumn raspberry just over two years ago, and now I have 10 separate raspberry plants! After sorting out the plant I'll put in new compost with some blood, fish and bone mixed in. A late spring top-dress of compost/BFB keeps it happy.

Thanks so much! That's great to know. I do possibly have a spot in the garden but am worried about the raspberry plant getting out of hand. I was thinking I could start it in a pot first and see how I get on.

Can I ask how far back do you trim the roots?

I usually cut the root ball back by a third or so all around, I'd say that you need a good 8-10 inch rootball keeping, but the rest can be trimmed off. I don't know if I'm cutting off too much, but I haven't had any potbound plants yet, and everything's still growing, so...
