All joking apart, Sweetcorn seeds are often treated with fungicide (particularly the newer Supersweet varieties, as they want to rot faster than they germinate!) so best to wash hands after sowing, let along avoid eating!!

I planted some outside and they are only just started to grow and I planted some more in the greenhouse and they started to grow straight away.

Hi I started mine in those brown cardboard type pots. Then put them in the plastic lid of a propagator then watered them with warm water, covered them with cling film until the first seed popped up.
The type I have started is called Swift from T&M.
