So I have been good and made my own compost heap.
when is it ready for spreading, where do I spread it, are there any vegs that don't like the compost then

Congratulations on making your own compost heap.
When it is ready for spreading, spread it all over your beds and vegetable plot. compost is one of the best soil improvers you can add to your soil. Off hand I can't think of one vegetable that doesn't like well rotted compost.
