How to stop water dripping in to my polytunnel?

Morning all,

I believe that due to strong winds it seems it is slowly ripping apart the fabric of the polytunnel where they are joined by the stitching.

I was wondering what I can do to help stop the situation getting worse?

Was thinking of getting several pieces of rope and chuck it over the tunnel anchoring at both sides which should help stop the fabric from blowing about in the wind.

Anyone else had a similar problem?

Are you talking about a tunnel with a woven shade cover rather than a polythene one which has unbroken plastic sheets?

It seems to be normal practice here to have cords over the plastic or netting to hold the cover down, so I would try that, but make sure it is not so thin that it will damage the cover.

Any tunnel that is properly erected should not flap around in the wind, and the cover should be very tight. Our first one was very loose and only lasted five years, but when we put up the second cover we got a group of a dozen friends who helped us ensure the cover was taut all the way round. To successfully put a cover on a large tunnel, you need a good number of people to help you torsion the cover evenly over its whole length.
