  • The plot with my pupils

    Hi,
Just thought I'd throw a few pictures up of what we managed to do in work. Did mention it the other week. Some of the older kids helped out and enjoyed.

We sha'll see what comes of it...

Can only include 4 images it seems

Great stuff! Site nice and clean, growing areas well-prepared, soil looks rich - well done.

And you're growing a full spectrum of veg.

      Good for you.

It's a good thing to get young people to engage with nature and working the land. Any of them expressed an interest yet in following that route as a career path or getting an allotment?

Thanks. Will keep you all updated, don't worry. Thought we would put a load in and hope at least some of them come good :-)

They are very keen. They have made their own rota now of when to water etc.

Couple of them have said they like gardening, there's a few that want to go down the landscape gardening or tree surgery route... so all good.

                Looks great.

Yet another teacher trying to educate the kids on how easy it is to grow food... Well done.

Oh how I wish we had been taught gardening when I was at school. We had cadets where they taught pupils how to kill people instead.

Amo amas amat amamis .... Could I have got through life without out that? did I need to know how to say "The wheel has fallen off my chariot"? Or to be able to say in Latin "I shot my arrow into the air"?
I also did 4 years of French and can't speak a bloody word of it!!

But planting out seedling or learning about soil didn't seem to rank very high in my school.

                        A wonderful post!

Yes, if only we had gardening instead of soldiering and orchards instead of slaughterhouses ...
