  • Would you plant these?

    Hi,
My neighbour gave me these spuds yesterday and I was wondering wether they would be worth planting.
On the back it says NAK-Netherland basic seed potato.
    Variety Sharps Express
    Country of origin Scotland
Then has a plant passport number.
There are roughly 6 per pack and she gave me 4 packs. So I was thinking of getting a couple of potato sacks and putting them in there. But to keep them at home away from the allotment in case of blight.
Worth planting or not do you think?

I would, nothing to loose and possibly a lot to gain.

I agree plus they are 1st earlies so you stand a good chance of a blight free crop.

Would you put just multipurpose compost in or something else with it?

Remember they will need a feed after about 5 weeks (the compost will be depleted) to ensure a good crop.

I would plant them too, I've planted spuds that felt almost hollow inside and got a great crop from them.
