  • 2nd truss... No tomatoes.

I have plenty yellow flowers but I'm now onto the 2nd truss but just have one tomato from 6 plants. They're now about 5 feet in height

I regularly gave the plant a shake for pollination. Am I just being impatient?

Have you tried using a small, soft paintbrush to help them along a bit??

Yes, in the greenhouse. I usually try to keep the door open (weather permitting).

I can give the paint brush a shot. When using a paint brush what parts of the flower should I brush?

I wouldn't worry too much Scott, I can't get mine to grow to 2 foot yet but hey, they're only Tomatoes at the end of the day............

I'd say not to worry, I think you're just being impatient and to be honest although it gives you the feeling of doing something I'm not totally convinced that the paintbrush trick really makes and difference as they'll come when they're ready anyway.

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

I do nothing pollination related to mine and every flower produces a tom, you are just being impatient I think. If the yellow flowers are still there I wouldn't worry, if they go brown and still no toms then perhaps there is a problem. Keep the doors open as much as pos, it aint just bees there are all sorts of things that pollinate.
