  • harvesting celeriac.

My celeriac has been growing for about about 5 months now and looking really healthy. the roots seems to be swollen even though most of it is below ground. The leaves are still green and showing no sign of dying off. How long should I leave them in the ground and when will i know when they are fit to harvest.?

And when your back stops aching,
And your hands begin to harden.
You will find yourself a partner,
In the glory of the garden.

brush some of the soil off the crown, and if it looks like a decent meal, dig it up

some people remove the lowest leaves to expose more root, others don't

I usually leave them until a bit later, and then only pull as I need them...sometimes into the following Spring if I have enough...
I dream of a better tomorrow, where chickens can cross the road and not be questioned about their motives....

            Delicious!
The proof of the growing is in the eating.
