But I think the composting toilet is a fantastic project.

Why: because it takes recycling to another level, saves water and cuts down on any chemicals used to process sewage. Albeit in a small way... but satisfying nonetheless.

Prince Charles has one at Highgrove so you would be in good company (depending on what you think of PC!) and the Church of England have them at remote churches where plumbing is a problem.

It is. But a second 'private' one on a site doesn't actually help very many people.

And as for why, why not? Its free fertiliser and its also convenient as I lose my fellow helper who has to go home for the loo lol

Me too - much easier and doesn't take up any growing space I did wonder if it was for more than just a wee though.

Suppose it depends on how many hours you're down the plot and how far from home you are

Will look into the composting toilet & as I use my shed for a study area I'de hate for any slip ups to happen lol

I can always let others know I have a composting loo but most live nearby to the plot.

One question, where do you pee? Am guessing it's not directly onto your compost heap as that would seem rather public so assuming you are inside somewhere would have thought the chances of a woman having an accident were lower than a man - as we all know it's you guys who tinkle on the floor
