Afternoon all,
I was just wondering how long different types of organic mulch last (e.g. wood chippings, leaves)?
I am asking this because I was wondering if it is possible to use a more 'short term' (as to say it will break down and can be utilised in the soil before the next crop is due to be grown in that area) mulch say for my tomatoes (to help conserve water as they have all split) and a more 'long term' mulch (I believe wood chippings last long) for my perennial permanent beds in which soil disturbance will be minimal?
Thank you for your replies,
Samuel
