Bean question

Hi,
I have been attempting to save some bean seeds this year. I still have some pods on my runner bean plants that are still very green. Have just popped one of these pods open an the beans in there are a bright pink, little girl is very impressed with the colour.
Is it worth keeping the plants going to collect the seeds or just get rid of them now?
Are the pink seeds ok to use or should I just throw them?

I have pulled the pods off my plants now, just in case we get a prolonged wet period which may cause them to rot on the vine.

You can always eat the beans instead of throwing them. It's getting about time for winter squash and bean stews...

it's very improbable that you'll get them to ripen up and dry out now. Just eat them (10 min boil first).

Next year, you want to save the best ones for seed, earlier. Tie a red ribbon, or whatever, round the plants you want to save for seed, so you don't pick them for eating by mistake

Personally, I want beans that will ripen early in the summer, so those are the ones I save seed from, not the tardy ones
