Hi folks,
I'm keen to understand your views on what my priority should be for manuring my plot. If you want to visualise it it's here: http://plans.garden-planner.net/uplo...ans/594927.jpg I'm on *heavy* clay soil.
I have bought a qty of that concentrated manure stuff that says it was enough for 90 sqm. Which I highly doubt when I look at it, so I am thinking where to prioritise it. I have already used some in my potato pots in the greenhouse so theres even less now.
I also have about 1m3 of horse manure that is supposedly well rotted but I think it needs some more time so it's having some time out composting.
So, back to my point, I think I shall use the horse manure later on in the 3 sisters bed, so the qty of concentrated manure I am thinking is best used on the the onion bed, the potato bed or possibly the brassica bed.
The onion bed was the potato bed last year and that had the majority of the manure then. The brassica bed was the 3 (well 2 actually!) sisters bed last year and that had both mounds of compost for beans/sweetcorn plus the benefit of nitrogen-fixing bacteria in the root nodules of the beans.
What are your thoughts? What needs it most?
