Buddlea grow like weeds here, which are great for peacocks, painted ladies, red admiral, etc, I also have woodland to the rear which brings others but I really would like to see Comma's make a "come back" in substantial numbers

The Comma is one of the commonest butterflies round these parts, BB. I'm surprised that you haven't got many, they are a nationwide insect success story of the last 100 years. But, whereabouts in the world is Upper-Woodenhill???

I found it by accident after going over the hill & round the bend Martin

In truth it's a left-over from a "conversation with a mate on a motoring forum who's location is ... In the Spinney Chair ... I suspect prior consumption of ale may have played a part

I am actually at the hilly end of the M54 bud

oh I'm definitely going to leave some nettles.
The patch think is a bit out of control covers about 100 sq feet. I have lots of smaller clumps of all types of nettles in the area, these vary from 6ft sq to 20ft sq.

I do use the nettle tops when they are new, great in veggie soups and I dry the leaves in the rayburn for 'tea' which I love.

Talking about bees, I saw probably the largest bumble bee I've ever see today, it was buzzing around happily in the sunshine looking like a large furry marble
