Comfrey feed

We have a fair amount of comfrey on the allotment, which is starting to take over the universe: I know this makes an excellent plant feed, but I'm confused by conflicting advice: some folk say that I should cover the leaves with water (as for nettle feed), and others say that the leaves should under no circumstances be covered in water.

So: water or no water? Or doesn't it really matter?

If you want to make a liquid feed with it, it will need to be put in water. If you hung a tea bag over the top of a cup without the bag submerging in the water after 10 mins you would still have a cup of water.

Alternatively you can just can it up and use as a mulch, in which case no additional water. Both are good and I do it both ways

I cut it up, stuff it into 2 litre milk cartons, fill with water (leave a gap at the top) and let it ferment for about 6 weeks. You can then use it diluted on your crops

I do know how to make a cup of tea, thank you - what I didn't know was how to make comfrey feed - as I said in my original post, advice seems to vary on this.

we all get banter but theres no malice in it.
You will get more help than no help.
as regards people having a joke BIGMALLY and LUMPY seem to keep comming in with the odd one
just laugh and love it.
On top of that they will both give good advice.
just take the jibes with a pinch of COMPOST
