Compost Bin Insulation

Hi,
I am hopefully putting my pallet compost bin together this weekend, with help from my two assistants.
I was wondering instead of using tarpaulin could I use black weed suppressor material as insulation. I've got a tick type or a thin type. Have got a shed load of the thin stuff so could put several layers round the inside.

I was just wondering as I have got a load of rabbit manure I can pick up. I was thinking of letting it rot down and start using it this time next year.

^^^^^ Nor me (like Alison), though I did line one once with some thin black fabric to stop compost falling through the slats. It rotted and was a nightmare to pull out of the compost. I'd use cardboard if I did it again.

I had a builders bag knocking around so stapled it to the inside of the pallet bin with the opening facing the front, seems to be composting quicker.

It hadn't even occurred to me as a possibility. I reckon several thin layers would do a better job, I guess it shouldn't rot since it's meant to be dirty and wet. It must help the compost go faster (as though it's a car. Maybe racing stripes?) if it keeps it warmer, but is it worth the effort?

I don't want to use a builders bags as I found two on the plot and they had been left in the middle of the plot full of Cr*p. They had been there that long when we went to move them they fell apart. So at the moment I'm getting a bit sick of picking up little bits of builders bags.
I thought weed material as I have loads of it and was wanting to use it up

Don't waste weed fabric on your bin. A heap will get more benefit from being nice layers of stuff than a thin layer of fabric.
