    Hi guys

    I ate my first home grown carrot today. i planted the seeds late march and pulled one out today they are still a little small (although a little bigger than the baby carrots you can buy in asda) but i have been tempted for weeks, i just pulled it up gave it a quick wash and ate it raw off the greenery like a rabbit lol.

    tasted fab really pleased with myself

    It's great isn't it when the seeds you've sown actually turn into edible crops, I don't think I'll ever tire of seeing this happen.

      You suddenly remember (if you are old enough!) what carrots taste like. If you're younger you might be discovering this. Nothing like the bland, water-filled stuff in the shops.
      Whoever plants a garden believes in the future.

        Well done Starbright! I planted carrots way back in March too but we only have one in the pot - think the slugs terminated the rest as soon as they appeared!

        You have reminded me to sow some more in a bucket today so that we have home grown carrots with Christmas dinner again this year!

          Tastes slightly better than the shop bought ones eh

          My brother doesn't like carrots, but I tempted him into trying a couple from the plot at the weekend. He now thinks they're nice !

          Horrible things at the supermarkets, probably got more air miles than Richard Branson.
