Plus i do have room elsewhere for pots where the carrots and tomatoes will go, and a whole other bed round the patio for herbs. And the conservatory for chillis and the allotment for potatoes and the rest of the carrots and broccoli. And maybe cauliflower but i know thats really hard

That's the beauty of it Bal, you don't have to know where to plant them. So long as the basics are in place like taller crops on the north side. Will have to try it next year. At the moment one bed is full with onions the second will have peas and beans the thirs will have sweet corn and the last is for everything else.
What's the advantage over conventional planting?Dogs have masters, cats have slaves, and horses are just wonderful
