Can anyone identify this shrub please?

I have been trying for ages to propogate cuttings from this shrub which I have taken from a friend's garden. If I can't get the cuttings to take, I would like to but a ready potted shrub but need to identify it first.

sorry i cannot answer your question,but,if you take the cutting to garden centres and ask/look there,also google varigated shrub leaves,also how old is the friends one,and how big is it,is the main stem soft or woody

It looks a little like Acer Flamingo.

Oh thanks so much, would figure that it may be an acer since my friend has several other Acers in the same area. So greatful.
