whats wrong with my toms? 2 of my strongest plants have started curling their leaves and on looks to me like it's on it's way out.

I've always done what i can to look after my plants, they are the first thing I've ever grown!...HELP!!!

I'm not worried about the lower leaves, they often go curly for no apparent reason.
However I am worried that these plants don't seem to have a growing shoot at the top. Have you been overdoing the pinching out? What's your plan for training them?

That kind of leaf curl is usually due to environmental stress - variable night temperatures, irregular watering, the shock of being transplanted etc. So probably nothing to worry about. They usually get over it.

What is more concerning is that neither of those plants appears to have a growing point. It's not so clear in the first picture, but in the second one the growing point clearly looks like it has been cut off. So you'll have to let a side shoot grow and take over as the main stem, if it produces one. What variety of tomatoes are they?

Like Martin says, nothing to worry about with the leaf curl - some Toms are more prone to it than others and doesn't affect development.
The lack of a growing shoot however IS a problem.
What do you get if you divide the circumference of a pumpkin by its diameter?
        Pumpkin pi.

I don't know how recent the pictures are but I would suggest they don't like the weather we're having much. However, it does look as though you've pinched out the growing point. I grow a number of different varieties and I've learned that some tomatoes can have very different (and confusing) growth habits so make a point of not pinching out ANYTHING until I'm sure there's a decent growing point above the shoot I'm taking out. When I've grown Big Beef (for example) I found that the trusses were on the leaf stalk, not on the main stem so one time I took out what I assumed was a sideshoot (because the other shoot had fruit trusses on it) to find it was the main stem and I had to wait a while until a lower sideshoot grew to take over.

i may have gone overboard with the pruning when i first read about suckers but I havn't pruned these plants for a very long time. i have 2 other tom plants which are a little smaller but bushier. All the same variety (not sure which tho...DOH!)
Martin, i dont really have a plan for training them...

You've definitely pinched the growing tip. You'll have to hope a sideshoot grows otherwise them plants are as good as finished.
