  • Little update

Had another play in the garden when time allowed this weekend.
My shed plot has lovely loose earth, I gave it a little dig over but now need to know what I can plant in there

I also appear to have signs of life in my lettuce planter

With my monster greenhouse I have some herbs, poppies and spring onions (i think)

    having fun!!

What would you like to plant?

The 'monster greenhouse' made me giggle away.

I've been overwhelmed with a similar hugantic carbunkle for the last 5 years.

      Anyway, a couple of questions:

Does the area get much sunlight ?
Do you want something permanent in there ?
Do you want to grow veg/fruit in the space or weeds like flowers (copyright Jimmy) ?
.......because you're thinking of putting the kettle on and making a pot of tea perhaps, you old weirdo. (Veggie Chicken - 25/01/18)

South west facing so plenty of sun.
My plan is for veg ideally. I'll also be having a narrow strip down the fence side for veg eventually, probably for planters though

You could probably take advantage of the wall and grow vertically; peas, beans, etc, although I don't know, it might be late to start now.

Then in front of them you can grow other things. At this time of the year maybe you could look for plug plants to buy and put.

          Have fun!

              Bit more achieved

Peas are in the ground. I decided to make a border rather than have all containers.

              Swede is looking like this

How long before I can plant these out?

Lastly for today, is this blackberry??

Swede looks good to go into ground now..
Those peas will need something to grow up...like netting or wire....Inside ones might cling to fence but outer row will need support I woudl think..
I dream of a better tomorrow, where chickens can cross the road and not be questioned about their motives....

Peas now have canes, I'm amazed that two have started to could around them in under 24hrs of me placing them
Whole area is now also netted.
                  Pics to follow tomorrow.
Anyone shed light on my mystery plant?? I think they are blackberries as they look similar to the ones at work

Yes, your mystery plant is probably blackberry. The only other possibilities are one of the hybrid berries (loganberry etc), but people usually plant the thornless versions of these.
