Making a start

Made a productive start on my new allotment, it is probably not the best time to hack down scrub, but none the less I have cleared my new allotment and exposed 14 raised beds, although the soil is not great due to the various weeds that they have been contending with, this took me approximately 6 Hours to clear over 3 days, next stage is to dig each bed and improve the soil with some compost

Nice find. Keep hacking away at the undergrowth and resurect/dig the beds one at a time. For the others, cover them in cardboard and pile the cut vegitation on top as a mulch to exclude the light. This will make later digging very much easier or may negate it totally if you chose to plant through and leave the soil undistubed.

Yes the beds were there , they just were not revealing themselves until now, will take your advice

Wow, looks great - you've had good luck finding those beds. Could be an idea to get one or two cleared properly & improved with some compost to get some stuff growing now - will help keep you motivated with the rest if you can see something yummy growing while toiling away!
