OK, my little gardening project fell by the wayside when I got hit by a shedload of paid work - I've barely had time to sleep let alone anything else over the past couple of months - but now the job's finished and I have my kids on holiday...so I thought we'd try again. Most of what was planted got munched by slugs (carrots, lettuce, peas), or bolted (radishes) but we managed to harvest some shallots and there are still some spring onions that I've just thinned out to try and persuade a few a fatten up.
What can I plant now - seeds (I have plenty left) or plugs (might be quicker?) to grow over the remainder of the summer/autumn? Will try to actually remember to mount some slug defences this time!
Also, does it matter that the raised bed seems to be full of woodlice now - they were on the shallots when we pulled them out?
Thank you!
Lucy
