My courgettes are starting to get yellow edges on their leaves and I read that it might be due to a nitrogen deficiency and that bat guano is great for this. Has anyone tried it and if so what were the results?

Never tried it & no doubt bat guano is the best fertiliser but probably expensive. If you need nitrogen I tried grass cuttings mixed in with my potatoes & one tomato plant & the leaves were a darker green showing the nitrogen benefits,I prefer to spend not much money so unless I find some in a cave...?Location : Essex

There was an episode of Kevin McCloud escape to the wild where families live off grid & one family was on a desert island growing their own & went to collect some bat guano from a cave in the ocean, they had to swim to it & scrape it out, then take it back without it getting wet (on their boat). All four episodes were really good, one family lived next to a live volcano.
