I've just put down some senshyu onion sets in between my leeks and brussels. Just realised, though, that once the leeks and sprouts are done, I ought to dig over the patch, but these onions will be in the way!! Would I be able to take them up one by one once they're established and transplant them to a dug area, or do I need to leave them in situ now?
Or would I be better off digging an area of the empty patch and moving the sets there now, before they get too established?
And on that thought, is this the time of year to add some manure to the bottom of the trench as I double dig?
