So thats 1 Kilo of Growmore to 1 Kilo of soil!

Most plants needing watering 2 or 3 times a week - what? Really? Is that in pots, undercover, in the ground, all year round, even in the rain? Not really very helpful and liable to confuse further!
Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

. My rule of thumb is a handful(yes there's a thumb on my hand) to the square yard. Now of course that depends on the size of your hand and whether you know your imperial measurements.

So I start with 1 plant!
Hardly seems worth the effort of getting the 1.5 cubic meters of growmore for the veg bed does it. Growmore sure got it wrong when they suggest a handful per sq meter.
I haven't forgot the sun but getting it to stop in one place in the sky and shine on the vegetables all day is proving difficult.
Always worry about planting seeds it seems so critical, but in the wild they sort of grow where they fall. I never take care to plant a weed seed but they appear all the time. Doesn't seem to matter to them if they are on the surface or a foot under.
How can I plant too close to other plants if the idea is "stick to one vegetable or plant" ?
No one in the UK forgets the weather, every body talks about the weather. Sometimes I would like to forget about the weather. And there is again little I can do about it. Anyone had any success at preventing it raining?
Ready salted plants to deter slugs. Also if you read the title and the point it reads that A common gardening mistake is not to take care of pests. Doesn't that mean I have to be nice to them ?Comment

Goodish tips but I could to the list -
Don't be too eager to plant seeds too early
Don't grow what you won't eat.
Closer together might mean smaller
Water butts do need a clean ocaisionally else the water becomes stagnant and stinky.
Don't think that all your produce will look like the pictures on the packet.I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work. Thomas A. Edison

Be generous with water, rather than wet the surface every day, give it a good soaking twice a week if there is no rain.
