How deep should I transplant Cucumber seedlings?

Hi there, I need some advice on how deep should I transplant Cucumber seedlings.

They are about 3" tall and don't have proper leaves yet but are just emerging.

I try to set them at the same level as they were in the original tray so as to avoid any chance of stem rot. Where are these plants going to be growing ultimately? I don't sow mine til mid April for a cold greenhouse. They grow quickly!

a bit early what did it say on the packet about planting time ?

They sound extremely leggy through lack of light, they have been set to early as others have said.

Two options really plant deep, water carefully to try and avoid stem rot, or scrap and start again at a more appropriate time.

I transplanted mine into rootrainers about 4 days ago when the seed leaves were out & are now under lights. In the 4 days under lights they are starting to grow true leaves so they seem happy enough so far for a sulky veg.
