  • Burnt seedling leaves

    Some of the tips seedlings are burnt. is it just irregular watering




    Also another question if I use artificial fertlizer do I need to buy new compost every year

    They are only the seed leaves & will drop off, nothing to worry about. One thing to bare in mind, if it gets hot & they are in a greenhouse try not to spray the leaves as this can cause scorching.

      It's on the true leaves as well.there under grow lights. There about 4 inches away from the lights

        How close are the grow lights to the plants? Maybe they are too close. Can you raise them up at all?

            Well if you think the grow light distance is ok, another possibility that can cause scorched leaf edges is either deficiency or excess of nutrients. Can you give us some more details? What kind of compost did you fill the cells with? Did you add any fertiliser to it? Have they been recently transplanted, or did they germinate where they are now?

              Would take them from the grow lights now,mine are doing great just on a table near the patio doors.

                I'm using coco coir with little bit of worm castings. The have germinAted where they are. The grow lights are on 16 hours a day

                  You shouldn't need growlights now. I switched mine off 2 weeks ago.................unless of course you are going to grow them under the lights.

                    I think there will be very little nutrients in that mixture. That's most likely to be your problem. Get some multipurpose compost and repot them in it and see if they improve.
