Potato harvest questions.

But just give me a ball park answer for how many pounds of potatoes can I expect from a potato plant? I have All Blue, German Butterball, and Yukon Gold varieties.

My wife thinks I'm nuts but I know I'm completely crazy. I planted 54 potatoes; 18 of each variety. I have a feeling I'll be giving away potatoes until sometime next year.

So many variables it really is how long is a bit of string, if you water them well and don't harvest too soon by being impatient(I'm guilty of that), you could double the weight and if you store them in a dark cool place they will store and you won't need to give any away.

Average potato plant during an average season with average care produces an average of how many pounds of potatoes? Give me a range if that would make it easier.

All I'm asking for is an educated guesstimate.

Is there some reason not to trust him? Nah, I just wanted a guesstimate. If I end up with 2.9 pounds per plant it's not like I'm going to get upset...2.5 maybe.

Don't anyone tell my wife that we may end up with over 150 pounds of potatoes. I want to surprise her.
