  • Advice on Potato Fork Handle

    Hi All

Hubby bought a Potato folk BUT with no handle.

He wants to know the following:

what people reckon is the best way to fit a new handle on a spike of the fork as it doesn't have a normal bit to put a new handle inside it

Most tools have a metal collar and the handle goes down inside it well the potato fork doesn't it only has a spike.

    Thanks
    Lorraine

Oops, you can't trust the men to go shopping, can you? If it has a spike, presumably this has to be driven into the handle. Next problem find a wooden handle that is thick enough to take the spike, and sturdy enough to provide years of service. Good luck, no suggestions, our local shops only seem to sell cheap softwood handles suitable for brooms. Try to find a local old-fashioned hardware or seed and garden shop (there are still a very few about). Do let us know how you get on.
