My chilli plants have been doing quite well over the last few weeks and I now have a handful of medium sized chillies (Jalapeno and Cayenne) on them. I got home from work on Tuesday to find that one of my plants was peppered with little holes, over about 50% of the leaves. I had a look and found some tiny caterpillars crawling all over the leaves. There must have been several dozen of them that I found without looking too hard.
I've looked in my veg patch books and can't find anything, but some time on Google has led me to believe they're some sort of moth caterpillar? They're green and about 6-7mm long and seem to move pretty fast. If you disturb them they seem to fall/jump off the leaves and hang a few inches below, like they're abseiling away from danger lol.
I don't want to hurt or kill the little fellas, but they seem to be doing quite a lot of damage to one of my plants, and I don't want the same to happen to the rest, so they need to go.
What's the best way to get rid of them? I've managed to not use any chemicals in the garden so far but if I need to then I will.
