Gardening Newbie trying to identify veg

Hi there, just moved to house with lots of gardening to do!
I'm trying to identify these:
Looks like orange corn kernels in a pod about 3 inches long.

Welcome Mendy, can you tell us where you are it helps with answering questions. I have to say it's new to me.

Possibly flower rather than veg. As the pod is still green, the seeds are probably not yet fully mature and might grow darker in colour. Here's a possibility:

If not this, then perhaps some other kind of lily. Sure as eggs are eggs, though, someone here will know.

I like Stinking iris as you can play a little game with it! If you pick a leaf and fold it in half it gives off its special aroma. It doesn't "stink" but does have a particular smell.
Have a sniff and come back and tell us what it reminds you of.
