Best place to buy garlic

bought mine from tescos last year, had a bit of rust on the overwintered stuff but had some decent bulbs from them, will buy mine from shop again rather than GC, seriously overpriced and when on a budget of 30 pounds for a year, every penny counts. feel bit guilty bout it though so might try the local farmers market first wont be as cheap as supermarket, but hey, will sleep a bit better.

The cheapest way to do it, is save some of your own to replant? I bought mine from Thompson & Morgan last year, and it performed brilliantly from both autumn and spring planting. So this year I'll be replanting saved autumn ones in October, and the spring ones in late February. I'm under the impression that eventually they'll adapt themselves to my growing conditions, and so will perform better every year, unless they get struck down by disease or something.

Mine wasn't great this year, looks like a new mini-garlic variety, although it tastes OK, so had best buy some new, will be scouting the farmer's market.
