  • Lambs lettuce bolting

I planted some lambs lettuce late last year as one of my overwinter crops. It did better than most given the really bad weather. Very slow growing but at least it mostly survived. Moved it to another bed about a month ago and didn’t lose much. The problem I have is that it is really bolting now and am not sure what I can do. It is a pretty sunny raised bed and I guess may be reacting to being moved too. Can I do anything?

Its probably the time of year. Its a winter crop and not suitable for warm weather growing.

My lambs lettuce is all going to seed as well. It's the time of year. You can save the seeds, or it's easier to let it seed itself. The plants will then die away so you can grow something else there. The seeds will stay dormant in the soil until the end of the year, and spring up when nothing else is growing. At least, that's what happens in my garden.
