  • oh dear....i forgot!

    Spectacular Mistake!

Last weekend after potting on some of my plants outside and sowing some of the "outside" seeds in pots I remembered about a post advising germinating seeds in kitchen towel so I fancied trying it.

I decided to do a couple of all my seeds, did individual bags, labelled them, kitchen towel wet, remembered the next night to spray a little water in bags, was working the following two nights and i've then promptly forgotten...until now!

I rushed to the cupboard, and have been met with this, these are the dwarf beans and the peas! Courgette are the exact same too!

I cannot believe I forgot about them all, and I also can't believe I am asking this question...is there anything that can be done with these?

Husband is saying they are terrifying him and it is like something from an alien invasion film!

I don't think I'd bother... You've still got time to resow.

    I'd resow.

    Really...

The good news is - you've learnt how quickly they germinate.

The bad news is - they're rubbish seedlings and your husband is right - they're terrifying. (That's the seedlings, not husbands).

you never knwo what plants may cope with - if I was dealing with them I'd get a small seed tray or something similar sized eg small box mushrooms sometimes come and half fill it with compost - then I'd lay one or two of the scary aliens with their roots flat on this, but with the heads sticking off the side then more compost on top - finally some water. Keep them somewhere flat but light like a windowsill but avoiding strong sun for a few days - with luck the stem will bend itself round through 90 degrees and the leaves will go green.

worse comes to worse you can use the product for scaring other family members :-)

              Bean sprouts!
Rinse them several times and then use them in a stir-fry (and tell your husband that was what you had intended all along )
The problem with rounded personalities is they don't tesselate.

Don`t worry about it, husbands are generally quite understanding
it may be a struggle to reach the top, but once your over the hill your problems start.

That's what I'd do just use the roots not the seeds, they'd be nice in a omelette as well.

That's the funniest thing I've seen all day. First thing that came to mind was eat them as be an sprouts as others have suggested

If the tips had some green I would've tried but they look well dead, I don't think they would grow, sorry.

Dump them and resow. At least you know theyre good viable seeds.
