I was just wondering, whenever I search the term hydroponics on the internet, it always involves a pump, but I have also seen plant roots just growing submerged in a bath of water and fertilizer mix. Is this method still classed as hydroponics and just as good?

Some plants need more oxygen in the water than others,as water stagnates oxygens released into the atmosphere, then the ph needs adjusting but lettuce doesn’t mind low oxygen levels so that looks like it’ll work without a pump,I don’t know much about hydroponics I was just reading this -

I asked on this forum and got one reply from someone who had used it. I'm too rubbish to point you towards the post, but maybe if you search?
You do need electrics for it though.Mostly flowers, some fruit and veg, at the seaside in Edinburgh.
