Am growing Belle de Fonentay - first earlies as well as some main crop (Rudolph). Never tried these varieties before. The main crop have flowers on them but nothing on the earlies although they are looking healthy. Read that some first earlies don't flower, is that right? Not sure when i will know they are ready then - should I be looking for the leaves to die back? Not expecting them to be ready yet - put them in about 6 April, but they were slow starting because we had such cold weather.

Have a little furtle underneath one of the plants....if you find a few underneath then you can either lift the plant or leave it a tad longer for any baby spuds to develop further.
Furtling.....best activity ever!"Nicos, Queen of Gooooogle" and... GYO's own Miss Marple
