hardly seen any since I got the birds!

The highlight has to be when they recognise my motorbike pulling into the front of the house from work and they all come running up the back garden waiting for their afternoon treat :~)

      Cheers

As long as eggs are well cooked i.e.hard-boiled,well-poached or scambled or in well-cooked dishes they pose no problem to pregnant women. In my opinion an egg laid in this country by an English bred hen could be eaten raw with no ill-effects as long as they are fed an appropriate diet.(In fact,I doubt 99% of world-wide eggs would do any harm, but don't risk it!!)

Thanks for that. An update for you. The wife hasn't died yet! Despite breaking the advice on many an occasion.

Wait for the eggs - I would guess that despite her colouring she should be a Legbar cross as blue ears should mean blue eggs!

My Araucana (anothr blue egg variety) was nine months old when she finally came into lay - the secret for her seems to have been a seperate food and water suply in the hen house. She is something of a wuss and won't come down into the run with the other girls even though they now ignore her.

                  Loves to be cuddled though
The weeks and the years are fine. It's the days I can't cope with!
