  • Patricia's comb is growing fancy. Should she be named Patrick?

We've had Patricia about 9 months, allegedly bought at POL - was from a well reputed place.
She's a Buff Pekin Bantam and over the past month we've noticed her comb getting much bigger and fancier and redder. There's never been any eggs from this one and although she's noisy it's not what you'd call crowing, rather just chuntering and the odd squark when she loses the others or spots a goose flying over. No amorous intention towards the others either.
We're only confused cause Doris, our Lavender Pekin, has a typically tiny comb.
What do you think? Could she be he?

I have pekin bantams and the hens do tend to have quite small combs. But the cocks have distinctive head and neck feathers (longer and pointier than a hen's) and longer sort of arched tail feathers.
After about a year though I wouldn't expect them to change too much, so couldn't say what's going on with yours, unless she's just (belatedly) coming in to lay. Their combs do swell a bit and redden then. Hope so!
