  • Egg Shells

I'm new. Maybe wrong place for this posting help me out. Mom use to soak egg shells in water and feed plants with the water after a few days to a week. Has anyone in the U.K done this or ever heard of it. I do this from time to time. Anyone..

Never heard of it myself. The only thing I can think of that would be of any use to plants would be calcium, and I'm not sure whether it is soluble in water.

Only thing I've used egg shells for is to keep slugs off.
The river Trent is lovely, I know because I have walked on it for 18 years.

          Hi and welcome,
I've seen it recommended to water plants with the water left after boiling eggs so soaking the egg shells would be a slightly stronger solution?
Anyway it's supposed to be good for the plants.
