    hi Kirsty and Lauren,
very sorry to hear about your loss, it can be heart breaking to loose a hen. but she was obviously very loved and had a nice life with you.
It really isnt your fault at all, I would be very very surprised if she had any symptoms you could see, chickens are flock animals, if they show any weakness they get bullied and kicked out of the flock which in the wild would mean certain death so they have developed over millenia not to show weakness or illness untill its too late, consequently most chooks go very quickly.
we had one that died of cancer and she didnt tell us till the day before.
    hope your feeling better soon.

      dear Kirsty and Lauren
So sorry to hear about your chuck - please don't blame yourselves, these things happen, and sometimes chucks do go downhill very fast.
Hope the rest of them are ok with antibiotics - do let us know how they are doing.

They have now finished their anti-b's. I've heard a couple of sneezes, haven't seem any discharge from nostrils either and none seem stressed, all full of beans and eating everything offered!
Just got to get them wormed (which was planned anyway) and then hopefully things should be ok.
Got to keep chucking eggs away until next Fri.
