    Hello,
    Got talking to a chap the other day about why my araucana's are not laying and he said that they won't start laying untill thier feet are warm. Has anybody else heard this or was he having me on??.

    Knit them some socks and see what happens

    Sorry, can't comment on the saying, we had araucana crosses (our doodley-doo was a pure-bred) and I think they laid more or less year round.

      never heard that one but it makes sense, give them a week or so and they'll start

        How old are your Araucanas? Thet come into lay very late - at the 8-9 month old mark!
        The weeks and the years are fine. It's the days I can't cope with!

            I dont know about cold feet but I had a Rhode Island Red who never laid when it was raining!!!
