  • Is my cockeral a little hoarse?

    Hello
    Sorry about the title!
My cockeral has a"CockaDoo........."cough! cough! splutter! splutter! and it doesn't seem to be getting any better.
He does sound very funny considering he is a year old now and looking quite big and handsome. It just seem so wrong to hear him struggle with the thing he is surposed to do the best.
Is he still a little young to do the full dawn call? Or is he just a little hoarse?
    Any remedies?
    Thanks
    Dotty

He's still a little young to get into full cry. Give him time.

Some cockerels never do a whole call. We had a beautiful cockerel many years ago who used to just do the 'cock-a' bit with a slight squeak to follow - hilarious!!

perhaps he needs worming? ask your vet for some flubenvet which you can mix with the daily food
