  • Advice needed - again!

Hi everybody, I'm after advice again please.

We got 3 more ex-battery chooks on Saturday, and they're living here with me and mine for the time being. These new 3 are for my granddaughters and they'd like to move them to their home 8 miles away so they can do all the "looking after" themselves. The problem is that my daughter treated her lawn where the chooks will eventually live with some "Feed and Weed" last week. How long should she leave it before allowing the chooks on there so they don't come to any harm?

A good month or so I should think. The first two cuts can't go in the compost - presumably due to possible toxic levels of the chemicals used. So since most people would agree that weeky cutting is the most a domestic lawn should need, that is two weeks - add another two for safety as that guideline is for composting and not direct use of the ground.

Alternatively ring the advice line that was on the pack and ask!

The weeks and the years are fine. It's the days I can't cope with!

Thanks so much for that Terry, I've passed the info on to my daughter

As soon as the new chooks have been moved to their next new home, I'm going to get me some more
