      Or another way of doing it is to find the chickens that you know you would like to keep and then work out how many of them you can keep

        If you're starting, go for hybrids, they have been bred for docility and egg capacity, if you want a good meat bird, you can get broilers and growers from a local hatchery. My preferred is a utility Sussex, good for both
