new chicken keeper needs help

Thanks to everybody for all the help and great advice. I will definitly get some Bokashi Bran and use hemcore as the flooring. I know that this may be seen as a silly question but how long will it take for 3 chickens to destroy the grass area of about 14' by 10' as my husband wants to dig up the front garden for a veggie patch as we cannot afford the £2000 that the councel want to drop the curb for offstreet parking. I have convinced my husband the sooner he builds the chicken coop, the sooner we can get chickens that will do the job for him.

Not long, particularly in Summer, would be my answer. Although 14' x 10' is big enough that parts of it may get some respite.
