  • Dry combs?

I've noticed that their combs look quite dry; they're not flaking or anything, but I wondered if I should put vaseline on them or if it's how they are supposed to look?
They're in the shade, so sunburn isn't a problem (if they can get sunburn)

What coulor are they? they should be a red rather than a pale pink, are they droopy?
we normally only use vaseline in the winter but if your concerned it wont do any harm.

    take only what you need
    give all you can

They're pink on the two younger hens and red on the older one, who is the only one who's started to lay. They are the same colour as when I bought them - apparently they go red when they come into lay. They aren't droopy at all, just look a bit dry. I'll give it a go with the vaseline; as you say, I guess it won't harm them.
