Can I use silicon sealant to fill the cracks around a chicken house when I assemble it? If not any ideas what I can use.I have put several coats of gloss on to slop mites but there will be a small gap around the 4 walls and floor when I assemble it.

    hi
how do you mean cracks? what are you building it from? mine is made from tongue and groove and i haven't filled any gaps in. you need some ventilation to air it. i personally wouldn't use any kind of silicon in case they ate it

If you've painted it inside and out, every bit of damage to the paint (can be too small to notice) will let in moisture which cannot escape, and it will soon start to rot. If each component has a sound paint layer, I wouldn't use sealant, a bit of ventilation won't come amiss.
