Not sure if it's down to the weather(had summer today!)but one of our girls seems really not well!Didn't notice when i let them out this a.m but when we got there lunchtime she was sat in floor of coop~picked her up & popped her out with food & water~10 mins later she'd found shade & lay there for a couple of hours.A chap who used to work with chooks came & gave her the once over & could spot no common cause(not egg bound or something else bound~re digestion?)Trying to convince myself it was just due to the heat~but the others all seemed fine!Does anyone else have experience of a chook being so poorly due to heat?

A couple of mine were a bit lethargic during the hot spell a few weeks ago, couldn't really work out what it was, so I just made sure they had lots of fresh cold water with Lifeguard tonic in available for them in the shade. I also opened the roof of the coop to give it a good airing and to make it cooler for them when they went to bed. Keep an eye on her though, and fingers crossed she'll be okMy girls found their way into my heart and now they nest there

She seems to have perked up just a little so hoping it was due to the heat(or maybe too much spinach&chard?!)Will carry on keeping my eye on her though!Cheers Maureen.the fates lead him who will;him who won't they drag.
